Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 AUD

Scope of Work – Design of 3-Point Torsion-Free Subframe for MAN Truck

Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled mechanical designer or structural engineer with experience in expedition vehicle or motorhome design to develop a 3-point torsion-free mounting system for a custom RV build on a MAN TGM 4x4 chassis.

Objective:
To create a detailed CAD design and technical drawings for a 3-point torsion subframe system that accommodates chassis flex while securely supporting a camper box. The design will be fabricated locally, so clear manufacturing drawings are essential.

Deliverables:

Initial Consultation & Concept Design

Review of chassis specifications (MAN TGM 13.290 4x4)

Advice on mounting points, frame material selection, and isolation components

CAD Design Package

Full 3D CAD model of the subframe system

Designed to bolt or weld onto the MAN chassis without compromising its integrity

Designed to interface with a flat camper box base

Engineering Drawings

Detailed 2D fabrication drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications

Exploded views and assembly instructions

Mounting point specifications and isolator/hinge details

Optional (if within scope):

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess stress under chassis twist

Advice on mounting the subframe to a StyroMax composite panel floor

Requirements:

Proven experience in off-road vehicle, expedition truck, or motorhome subframe design

Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software

Understanding of chassis flex and isolation principles for heavy-duty trucks

Ability to deliver files compatible with fabrication (STEP, DXF, DWG, PDF)

Timeline:
To be discussed – ideally 2 to 4 weeks for full design package.
