Custom Engine Block Design & FEA
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I'm seeking a skilled professional to help me modify an OEM inline 4 cylinder engine block. The job entails drawing the engine block in a 3D software (I may be able to provide a laser scan of the OEM block) and implementing some custom modifications. The ultimate goal of this project is to create a more durable and lightweight engine block for high performance racing use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use of 3D software to design and modify the engine block.
- Implement custom changes to the engine block based on general ideas I will provide.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to seek areas to remove material to lighten the block and find areas to add matrrial to strengthen the block.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in 3D design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360).
- Experience with engine block and rotating assembly design and modification.
- Understanding of FEA and ability to implement findings into design.
- Ability to work with general ideas and provide professional suggestions.
