Purpose
Design a high‑reliability, precision hand-trigger dispensing nozzle for heated plastisol used in soft‑plastic bait manufacturing. The nozzle must support both open‑pour and injection workflows, prioritize flow control and consistency, and be easy to clean, service, and manufacture.
This hand nozzle will be used on 240v hot melt hoses, which have 9/16"-18 JIC fittings

Operating Context
Material: Heated plastisol
Typical operating temperature: ~300–350°F (150–175°C)
Use case: Small, detailed pours requiring very slow, controllable flow, as well as injection
Typical dispense volumes: <30 ml per bait, sometimes as low as ~10 ml
Machine environment: Bench‑mounted system, operator‑controlled dispensing

Key Functional Requirements
1. Flow Control
- Must enable very slow, repeatable flow for detailed molds, as well as higher flow rates for injection
- Smooth, laminar flow preferred (no spurting or pulsing)
- Capable of consistent micro‑dispensing without operator fatigue
- Variable dispensing rate - the more you squeeze the more material comes out
2. Thermal Stability
- Nozzle must maintain plastisol temperature up to the tip. so there will have to be a small cartridge heater & temperature sensor inserted into the valve body
Minimize heat loss that could cause:
- Viscosity changes
- Partial curing
- Flow inconsistency
- Compatibility with upstream heated hose / heat exchanger
3. Anti‑Drip / Clean Cutoff
- Strong preference for a positive shutoff (mechanical or valving concept)
Minimize:
- Stringing
- Drips between pours
- Material waste
4. Clogging & Reliability
- Internal geometry should avoid dead zones
- Easy to clear if material partially cools
- Designed for frequent heat cycling

Mechanical & Design Constraints
- Compact form factor
- Simple internal geometry preferred
- No extremely tight tolerances that drive machining cost
- Must be manufacturable via:
- CNC machining (primary)
- Off‑the‑shelf fittings where possible

Cleaning & Maintenance Requirements:
Fast cleanout is critical
Nozzle should:
- Disassemble quickly
- Have minimal internal cavities
- Allow flushing with hot plastisol or purge material
- Ideally supports a workflow where production runs are done in batches

Interfaces & Integration
- Interfaces with a heated hose / dispensing block upstream
Downstream tip options may vary:
- Different orifice sizes
- Swappable tips (I will make my own dispensing and injection tips, this is not a part of the job. I just need a female port with threads that i can insert tips into)
- Threaded or quick‑connect concepts are acceptable
