Comparative Analysis in Optimization of Machining Parameters for simulated 3-Axis CNC Milling Operation

Job ID: 35303955

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

The simulation needs to be conducted using 3 CAM software: CamWork, MasterCam & Pro/MFG to fulfil the following objectives:
1. To identify the generated coded error before sending to machine controller between simulations using different CAM tools.
2. To analyse and compare the simulations from the three CAM Tools in order to present the reliability and accuracy of the software.
3. To optimize the selection of the parameters for machining process when using CAM interface. (tool path, cutter diameter, cut depth, and the number of tool teeth) to reduce the time of CNC machining.

the following instruments and materials are needed for this experiment.

i. CAM tools: CAM Works, Mastercam X2 and Pro/MFG
ii. CNC machine model: Fanuc 6B 3 Axis Controller with minimum modifications.
Post Processors Name: M_f6mb
iii. Workpiece Geometry: The size of the plate is 6 in. × 4 in. × 0.75 in., unit system chosen is IPS (inch, pound, second).
All of the specimens are the same for 3 CAM tools to maintain the consistency.
