CFD Simulation for Separator Internals (EU based freelancer)

Job ID: 40227795

Budget: £18 – £36 GBP

I have a gas-liquid separator whose internal geometry needs to be verified before fabrication. The task is a complete CFD study of multiphase flow through the vessel, capturing the interaction between gas and liquid phases. My main concerns are flow distribution across the internals, overall pressure drop, and the resulting phase-separation efficiency, so the model must resolve these three metrics quantitatively.

A CAD file of the current layout, design operating conditions, and fluid properties will be supplied at project start. The simulation should be run at the specified throughput, using an appropriate multiphase model (VOF, Euler-Euler, or similar) in Fluent, CFX, OpenFOAM, or another recognised solver, with mesh independence demonstrated. Please include transient behaviour if it materially affects separation performance.

Deliverables
• A brief modelling plan for my sign-off before you mesh
• Final 3-D mesh and solver setup files
• High-resolution plots and animations showing velocity vectors, volume fraction contours, and pressure fields
• A concise report (PDF) summarising methodology, key findings for flow distribution, pressure drop, and phase-separation efficiency, plus any design improvement suggestions
• A short call or written Q&A to walk me through the results

The work is complete when the numbers for all three target parameters converge and the trends are clearly explained in the report and media supplied.
