Role Overview:
As a CAD Engineer specializing in fire alarm systems, you will be responsible for creating detailed shop drawings, preparing cut sheet submittal packages, and conducting battery calculations to support our projects. You will collaborate closely with our engineering and design teams, working remotely within the United States Eastern Time Zone, participating in Teams calls with our office staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Generate accurate fire alarm shop drawings using CAD software, adhering to industry standards and project specifications.
Prepare comprehensive cut sheet submittal packages for review and approval by clients and regulatory authorities.
Conduct battery calculations to determine the appropriate power supply requirements for fire alarm systems.
Collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams to integrate feedback and ensure project alignment.
Participate in Teams calls with our office staff, providing updates on project progress and addressing any technical queries.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software, with experience in generating fire alarm shop drawings.
Familiarity with conducting battery calculations for fire alarm systems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Availability to work during USA Eastern Time Zone business hours and participate in Teams calls with our office staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in the fire protection or building systems industry.
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NFPA, IBC, and NEC.
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD or similar CAD software packages.
Certification or training in fire alarm systems design or engineering.
