CAD Design Simplification for Standard Stock Fabrication -- 2

Job ID: 40511486

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

1. Project Overview
Objective: To take an existing, complex CAD design and re-engineer it for simplified, cost-effective manufacturing. The final design must entirely eliminate the need for complex machining, folding, custom forming, or welding.

The redesigned assembly must be manufacturable using only three types of materials:

Flat laser-cut Stainless Steel and Mild Steel plate.

Standard angle line (angle iron).

Standard box section (hollow structural tubing).

2. Provided Materials
The following files are attached to this project posting for your review:

DXF File(s): [Insert brief description, e.g., Top down views, current profiles]

PDF File(s): [Insert brief description, e.g., Dimensioned drawings, assembly views]

JPG File(s): [Insert brief description, e.g., Renders, reference photos]

3. Engineering & Design Constraints
The freelancer must adhere to the following strict manufacturing constraints:

Assembly & Joining (100% Bolted / Using Screws): The design must be entirely bolted together; welding is strictly prohibited. All bolt hole locations should be set to M4 size.
Laser Cut Plates: All custom profiles must be designed as 2D flat patterns suitable for laser or plasma cutting from Stainless or Mild Steel. No CNC milling, turning, or press-brake folding should be required.

Standard Stock: All structural framing must utilize standard, commercially available sizes of angle line and box section.

Simplification: The primary goal is reducing manufacturing complexity and cost while maintaining the core structural integrity and function of the original design.

4. Required Deliverables
The project is not considered complete, and payment will not be released, until the following files are handed over and verified for every individual component.

Crucially, each individual part must have its own separate, matching file set (e.g., Part_01_BasePlate.dxf, Part_01_BasePlate.pdf, Part_01_BasePlate.jpg):

Manufacturing 2D File (DXF): Clean, 1:1 scale DXF file optimized directly for laser cutting. Files must contain no splines, closed loops only, and no text within the cut path.

Dimensioned Drawing (PDF): A clear PDF drawing detailing all necessary dimensions, cut lengths (for standard stock), and bolt hole locations.

Visual Reference (JPG): A clear image or 3D render showing the finished component for easy visual identification.

5. Project Milestones & Strict Payment Terms
This project operates on a strict 100% payment upon completion structure. Funds will only be released when all final deliverables have been submitted and have passed the following Acceptance Criteria:

Payment Milestone: Final File Handover (100%)

Deliverables: A complete, separated set of DXF, PDF, and JPG files for every individual component in the assembly.

Acceptance Criteria for Payment:

The design explicitly eliminates all complex folding, milling, turning, and welding, utilizing ONLY standard flat plate, box section, and angle line, joined exclusively by bolts.

DXF files are separated per part, exactly 1:1 scale, and import cleanly into standard CAM software without double lines or broken geometry.

PDF drawings accurately reflect the DXF profiles and contain all necessary cut/hole dimensions for structural assembly.

6. Intellectual Property
All designs, CAD files, and documentation created during this project will become the sole property of the client upon final payment. The freelancer agrees not to reuse or resell these specific design files.
