Autodesk PowerMill 5-Axis CNC Programmer Needed for Furniture Leg Production
We are a sawmill and furniture company located in Jane, Missouri, looking for an experienced Autodesk PowerMill CNC programmer to help program 5-axis CNC furniture legs and generate safe, production-ready G-code for our machine.
This is a project-based or contract opportunity, with potential for ongoing work if it is a good fit.
What We Need
We need someone who can take solid wood furniture leg designs and turn them into reliable CNC programs for production. The right person should be comfortable working with Autodesk PowerMill, 5-axis toolpaths, post processors, machine simulation, tooling strategy, and safe machine prove-out.
Experience with woodworking, furniture parts, carved legs, table legs, millwork, organic shapes, or sawmill/furniture production is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Create and/or refine 5-axis CNC toolpaths in Autodesk PowerMill
Generate G-code for our specific CNC machine and controller
Review or validate the post processor
Help with roughing, finishing, indexing, or continuous 5-axis strategies
Check for collisions and safe machine movement before production
Advise on fixturing, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workflow
Help prove out the first parts safely
Work remotely when possible, with potential on-site support in Jane, Missouri if needed
Ideal Experience
Strong Autodesk PowerMill experience
5-axis CNC programming experience
Ability to generate reliable, machine-specific G-code
Experience with post processors and controller-specific output
Understanding of collision avoidance and machine simulation
Background in woodworking, furniture, millwork, carving, or solid wood machining
Ability to communicate clearly and help us create a repeatable production process
