Windows Explorer File Copy Tool Integration
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
We are seeking an experienced C# .NET developer to enhance our custom file copy transfer tool by integrating it more deeply with Windows Explorer. Our tool, written in C# WinForms, is production-ready aside from the final integration steps.
Key requirements:
1. **Integrate Custom Paste Functionality:**
- Allow the tool to hook directly into the default Windows Explorer "Paste" option.
- Listen for the "Ctrl + V" shortcut in Windows Explorer.
- Intercept these events and pass the destination path (where clipboard data is requested to be pasted) to our C# .NET program.
- Override and stop the standard Windows paste process before it begins, allowing our custom tool to take control. (similar to Tera Copy, Extreme Copy ect)
2. **Context Menu Integration:**
- Update our current integration with the classic Windows Explorer right-click context menu.
- Implement right-click context menu options for the new Windows 11 context menu.
Ideal skills and experience:
- Expertise in C# and .NET framework.
- Experience with Windows API for hooking keyboard events and Windows Explorer context menus.
- Proficiency in working with clipboard operations and Windows Shell extensions.
- Familiarity with Windows 11 context menu architecture and registry modifications.
Additional Details:
- Our existing file copy tool is a WinForms application.
- You will need to ensure compatibility with both modern and classic context menus in Windows 11.
- The solution must be robust and handle edge cases, ensuring a seamless user experience.
