C# WinForms Licensing Integration

Job Title:
C# WinForms Developer to Implement Licensing + 30‑Day Trial and WooCommerce License Integration

Project Overview
I have an existing Windows desktop application built with C# WinForms (.NET). I want to:

Offer a 30‑day free trial.
After 30 days, show a license key / activation window and block full use until a valid license is entered.
Sell license keys online using a WordPress site with WooCommerce and a license manager plugin.
I’m looking for an experienced developer to implement the trial and licensing logic in my C# app and integrate it with WooCommerce license generation.

Scope of Work
1. Licensing Design & Setup
Review and work with (or recommend) a WooCommerce license manager plugin (for example: WooCommerce Software Add‑On, WooCommerce API Manager, or a similar license manager I can purchase).
Configure in WooCommerce:
The product for my Windows app
Automatic license key generation on purchase
License email to the customer (key + brief activation instructions)
You may advise me which exact plugin to use; I’ll buy/provide it.

2. Trial & License Logic in the C# WinForms App
Provide C# WinForms (.NET) code that I can integrate to:

On first run: start and store a 30‑day trial.
On app startup:
If trial active → allow normal use; optionally show “X days remaining”.
If trial expired and no valid license → show a modal activation window.
Activation window:
Field for license key
“Activate” button that:
Calls the licensing API (from WooCommerce license manager or related service) or validates according to the plugin’s scheme
On success: store activation locally, unlock full functionality
On failure: show clear error (invalid key, expired, already used, etc.)
Requirements for the code:

Implemented in C# WinForms; compatible with my .NET target (I’ll specify: e.g., .NET Framework 4.8 or .NET 6).
Well‑structured and commented, with a simple public interface such as:
LicenseManager.CheckStatus()
LicenseManager.ShowActivationDialogIfNeeded()
Designed with online activation in mind (license checked against WooCommerce/plugin API).
3. WordPress + WooCommerce Setup (Basic)
Set up or configure a WordPress site (I will provide hosting and access).
Install and configure:
WooCommerce
Chosen license manager plugin
Payment gateway(s): Stripe and/ PayPal
Create:
A simple product page for the application (I can provide text and images; you structure it).
Ensure full flow works:
Customer visits product page → purchases → payment succeeds → WooCommerce generates a license key → key is included in the order confirmation email and visible on the thank‑you page.
4. Documentation & Handover
Provide a short document that covers:

Which license manager plugin and configuration you used.
How the trial and license check works in the app:
Where in the code to call the license check on startup.
How/where trial data and license data are stored locally.
How to:
Create/edit products and pricing in WooCommerce.
View customer licenses.
Manually generate/revoke a license if needed.
Change the trial length (e.g., from 30 days to 14 days).
A brief recorded walkthrough or short call is a plus.

Technical Environment
App: C# WinForms, .NET (I will specify exact version when we start).
OS: Windows 7 and newer.
Site: WordPress + WooCommerce (new install on my hosting).
Payments: Prefer Stripe and/or PayPal.
Freelancer Requirements
Solid experience with:
C# / WinForms / .NET
Implementing software licensing / activation for desktop apps
WordPress + WooCommerce configuration
Bonus: specific experience with WooCommerce license manager plugins or software license APIs.
