Small business scheduling software revamp: C# and .NET project
Budget: $10,000 – $20,000 USD
Our team is refreshing and readying for relaunch an innovative software that optimizes schedules, improves productivity, and increases revenue for dental professionals. An older version of our software was in production, but we are modernizing the UI and code to be able to scale via simple website downloads. Our goal for this project is to complete a code translation from C++ to C# (partially done now), utilize existing algorithms to optimize results, and package the software for production in Q1 2023.
-Our software integrates seamlessly with Dentrix, an on-premise practice management solution used in older dental practices across the US
-Our software focuses on revenue goal setting / progress tracking to help practitioners make significantly more money with simple changes to scheduling
Technical description
There are three main technical pieces to the app:
A WinUI based UI which allows users to configure their office and goals
A process monitor that will monitor for Dentrix being launched and initiate DLL injection
A DLL written in C# which is injected into Dentrix, listening for window and other UI events, overlaying UI in response to events
An MSI installer that installs the various pieces
Contractor Requirements
Fluent in C# and the .NET ecosystem
Proven experience building WinUI applications
Basic understanding of WPF
Basic understanding of software patterns like MVVM, dependency injection
Familiar with DLL injection
Ability to work independently, as well as under light supervision from a technical project lead; strong communication skills; responsive to customer-focused requests from the business lead
Willingness to meet 1-2x/weekly with progress updates; daily check-ins on Slack
Nice to have:
Experience translating C++ and MFC to C# and WinUI
Able to build simple Windows installers (MSI)
Strong experience w/ DLL injection and MFC
This is a contract-based role that will be scoped on a project basis with a clear SOW and milestones.
