Programmer skilled in C#, .Net, css, HTML, JavaScript
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am looking for a skilled programmer who is proficient in C#, .Net, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript to help me develop a software application. The project is just starting and I have a detailed list of specific requirements and features for the application.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Strong proficiency in C#, .Net, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
- Experience in developing software applications
- Ability to understand and implement detailed requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable code
1. Scope of the project.
You will be adding new functionality to an existing product called Big6 plug-in for home automation software HomeSeer.com. Description of Big6 is available here
http://big6.ivanv.com
As you can see Big6 supports 6 protocols. The task at hand is to add another protocol called Matter.
Matter is a new protocol for home automation supported by Google, Amazon and many others. Well developed SDK and API do exist for easy programming. Look here for example
https://developers.home.google.com/matter/overview
HomeSeer.com does have it's own SDK as well that you can see here
https://github.com/HomeSeer/Plugin-SDK
If you are successful adding Matter to Big6 than we will consider hiring you long term to do maintenance of Big6.
2. Get familiar with the environment (takes 15 min)
Download and install homeseer.com home automation software (free trial)
Go to Plugins-->Manage-->Add and add Big6 plug-in
Activate Big6 plug-in
Go to Plugins-->Big6-->Profiles Cofiguration
Create new HTTP GET profile as follows
Name: Test
URL: https://randomuser.me/${input}
Log box: checked
leave everythin else blank at this profile page and save it
In HomeSeer go to "Events" tab
Create new event as follows
Name: Test1
Trigger: Manualy triggered
Action: Big6HTTP (select it from the drop down box)
Profile: Test (the one that you just created)
Message box: blank
Input box: api
Save and run the event. Go to the log at Tools-->Log and see the data that you received from executing the event
Go to Devices and select Floor: Big6 and Room: HTTP See a new device named Test that Big6 has created.
With this simplified experiment you managed to send data out and to receive data in over HTTP using Big6. Furthermore Big6 created HomeSeer device automatically to hold the information received for further use.
The project at hand here is to send data out (control) and receive data in (status) to Matter enabled devices in compliance with Matter protocol.
As far as Matter rides on top of TCP and UDP and as far as both TCP and UDP are supported by Big6 now, than no work is expected at lower levels than the application layer.
3. Deliverables and testing
New tab in Big6 profiles "Matter" with similar functionality as the other profiles.
The new profile page will have everything necessary to setup a Matter profile.
Unlimited number of Matter profiles will be allowed
The new profile page will have all the fileds nececessary to parse input and create HomeSeer devices (similar to the lower part of HTTP profile).
It will support all functionality such as expressions in the fields.
New item Big6Matter will show up in Event Actions drop down menu
New Big6Matter action will open additional fields as needed for the action
You will wrap your code per HomeSeer requirments for a new plug-in and produce .zip file
I will upload the file and create new stand alone plug-in called "Matter" for testing puropses.
I will buy Matter enebled device (say Thermostat).
Using your plug-in we will setup the thermostat to particular settings.
The feedback from the Thermostat will be imported automatically by the plug-in into HomeSeer Device / Features
If all of the above works satisfactory than I will give you access to Big6 code to incorporate your code into Big6.
The project will be considered completed after that, and payment due for the project.
