Job Description:
I am in need of an events management app. I have already developed an API, but it will need further tweaking based on how you implement the app logic. I have also created an initial version of the app with admin authentication and display of events and their details, which I can provide to you. However, you are welcome to start from scratch, as I believe your code will be of a much higher quality.
The app should be developed in Java and will use Retrofit to connect to the SQL Server database through the C# .NET API.
Technology Stack:
Backend: C# .NET API
Database: SQL Server
I can provide both the database and the complete API code. Ideally, you will be able to change/add/remove features from the API as needed, but if this incurs too big additional costs, I can make the necessary changes myself based on your requirements.
App Requirements:
The app should allow hosts (admin users) to manage their events.
Events have activities that non-admin users can sign up for. Based on the chosen activities, users will receive a QR code via email, which will be scanned upon their arrival.
The main page should display a RecyclerView with all the events fetched from the API. Clicking on an event should show more details about the event (name, activities, location, time, etc.).
The app should include a QR scanner to track users who arrive at the event.
Admin users should have the ability to add, edit, and delete events and activities.
Knowledge of generating QR codes and sending emails is required. I am not sure how to implement these features and whether they should be handled by the API for better performance.
Knowledge of C# is essential for understanding and potentially modifying the backend API.
Additional Information:
The API supports basic CRUD operations for events and activities.
Authentication is required for admin actions.
The app should follow best practices in Android development but does not need an overly complex design. A clean and functional design is sufficient.
I can provide a rough mockup of how the app should look to guide the development process.
