Stitching of videos
Budget: €1,500 – €3,000 EUR
Hi, I am looking for an experienced freelancer qualified programming a software that is able to stitch videos together. I have developped a camera system consisting of two action cameras that record soccer matches from a 10m tripod. The two cameras are fixedly placed in a housing in particular angle and record the two sides of a soccer pitch from the midline. Subsequent to recording, the two videos need to be stitched. Currently I am using a commercial software Kolor Autopano Pro which, however, is no longer on the market. So, I would like to initiate an open source software allowing other non-professional soccer trainers to also record and analyse there matches.
In detail, the software should do the following:
- the action cameras record their videos in 4GB sections. So, in a first step, the about 15 sections need to be merged into a single video (final size about 50GB). The merged video needs to be saved on the hard drive.
- in the second step, the software should allow the user to select the two videos (right view and left view)
- then the software should allow synchronisation of the videos by sound (time frame: 1-30 seconds of the video
- the user should be able to visually check that the synchronisation worked. If not, then the user should be able to select earlier or later frames of one video to get it to match with the second video
- then, the user selects a frame for stitching. This is done by the user choosing a frame in which there are many features (normally players) shared between the two videos in their overlapping are.
- then the software stitches the two videos using a panini projection.
- the user then can choose the size, position and the horizon of the stiched image
- then the software uses this "model" and processes the entire video
- video should be stored on the hard drive in MP4 format
ideally, the user should be able to select the start frame (kick off) and the end of the video to be stitched
ideally, there should be the option for a colour correction to have an "even" colour of the soccer pitch.
I record my videos at 2.7K and with 25 frames per second in a 4:3 format. In the future, 4K should equally be processed.
There is already quite some software available on GitHub. Perhaps that could be used as a starter.
I attach some sample images showing the view of the right camera, the left camera and a stiched image using panini projection. Should you be interested, I can show you in an online chat how I process the files with my current software.
