Midi to Excel & Excel to Midi Converter
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I am looking for a freelancer who can create a Midi to Excel and Excel to Midi converter.
Requirements:
- I need to convert MIDI files with multiple tracks.
- The Excel output should meet my specific requirements.
- I require advanced level of detail for the Excel output, including note, velocity, duration, channel, track, marker, and tempo.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Strong knowledge and experience in MIDI file conversion.
- Proficiency in Excel and data manipulation.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate conversion and output.
Description:
I want to be able to convert midi to excel so that I can use it in a program called CSound.
The CSound instruments are built with coding like C. Csound has score files that assign a "p-field" for different parameters within the instrument that the user can define. (See sample template).
The raw data extracted from midi file needs further postprocessing. The data needs to be in the exact column format from left to right, as in the sample, that way I can just cut and paste it into Csound.
The start times and durations need to be in seconds. In Csound p1 is always the instrument number. p2 is always the start time in seconds and p3 is the duration in seconds. I believe p4 and up are user defined. I use p4 for volume (on velocity) and p5 for pitch (midi key number) p6 and up you can assign the various controller data to each successive p-field. I could theoretically have infinite p-fields for whatever I want. At the moment I only need the ones I defined in the template. The empty ones in the template I just put there in case I need them. I know midi has a lot of possible controller data that could be assigned to the remaining p-fields. However, I don't use much controller data.
In addition I want to be able to convert an excel file in the same format back into midi.
I am currently using macOS 10.14.6. Can you make the file conversion program compatible with this OS?
