Arduino Programing -- 2

Good day, a couple months ago another user helped create a device and also wrote a piece of software for the device. Before receiving the device the user demonstrated it working properly however after I received the item does not function properly. The person has since stopped responding to messages so I'm left with something that is unusable. I'm looking for assistance in hopefully getting the device to work properly and understanding the software.
