Help me define a strategy discussion paper (by 5 November)
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I need to prepare a strategy discussion paper
The scenario
Company A acquired XYZ business 8 years ago and merged its existing small team and business under the newly acquired leadership. The new business has a strong focus in a certain sector and is well acknowledged as a specialist in this area.
The business has performed extremely well since acquisition, though in the last 18 months key staff have left to start up their own business. In addition to attacking business they have also actively recruited Company A employees.
Since acquiring XYZ business, Company A has allowed the XYZ business to largely continue to operate as they have always done, using many of the same systems and processes. They have always been vocal about how effective they are and prefer the new owners to keep their distance. The new General Manager for XYZ business who has been in the role for 2 years has made great progress to break down barriers and is keen to see a cultural shift and integration to Company A, though can’t afford to lose people, clients, or the market reputation they hold.
Company A are also eager to see full integration of XZY business and would like to deploy new technologies into the business. These include:
• A new upgraded invoicing system
• A records management system (Sharepoint) to replace the existing XYZ business system, which is well liked.
• CRM tool is also to be introduced to support sales and client management
• Development of a proprietary trading platform that is being talked about as revolutionising the way business will be traded
Not all these technologies are in currently in use by Company A although there is a longer-term plan for this to happen.
XYZ business have always managed the business onshore, in part because their systems are unique to them. With the adoption of the above technologies the opportunity exists to utilise Company A support operations in Mumbai. XZY are dipping their toe in the water when it comes to using Mumbai but are not committing.
There is a heightened sense of urgency to move on integrating XZY business.

Please address the following questions as part of our discussion:
• What are your key considerations?
• How would you approach this?
• What might be the opportunities and potential risks?
