Business Plan for dog daycare and boarding Wasilla, AK.

Job ID: 36036904

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

My significant other and I are beginning to start a dog daycare and a "last-minute" boarding center (we will offer boarding to established clients only) in Wasilla, AK—the location is down a quiet neighborhood at the end of a cul-de-sac. Our neighborhood is down a road called Fairview loop, which is high traffic as there are large neighborhoods and an elementary school nearby. The dog daycare is planning to develop in stages; the first is that it will start in our home. We plan to put up 8ft tall fencing blocking off 1 acre of land for dogs to play. There will be 15 kennels to hold dogs during downtime and to accept them during drop-off or place for the pick-up. Daycare will charge $40/day, and boarding is a $20 fee per night (in addition to the daycare fee). We want to do a soft opening on June 15th, 2023, so efficiency is essential. Our land is 6 acres, so we have a farm-like feel. Clients will drive down a long driveway that leads to our home, and at the end, there will be kennels for easy drop-off. The name of the facility will be called Paws and Pastures. January 2024, we would like to start our hard opening where we implement a membership program and start pushing our name out on social media (compared to our soft opening in June of this year, where we would like to keep clientele small and within our small community letting word spread via word-of-mouth).
