Construction Materials Trading Manager
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is essential.
• Advanced degrees (MBA or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Industry Experience
• Minimum 2-8 years’ relevant experience in sales, procurement, or business management within the construction materials or building materials industry.
• Prior experience handling suppliers, logistics, and/or inventory for construction material trading is preferred.
• Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills for supplier evaluation, pricing, and inventory management.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication abilities to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and managing sales teams.
• Commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting abilities.
• Business Process & Operations
• Expertise in procurement, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely supply of quality materials.
• Inventory and warehouse management, including product categorization and maintaining optimal stock levels.
• Ability to oversee logistics, coordinate product deliveries, manage order processing, and ensure on-time, accurate deliveries.
• Competence in using relevant digital tools (Word, Excel, ERP, inventory management systems, etc.).
• Leadership & Management
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate staff across sales, procurement, and operational roles.
• Customer-centric approach with a focus on service quality, feedback analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Market Awareness & Relationship Building
• Good understanding of the construction industry and local market trends.
• Ability to develop and execute effective marketing and sales strategies, including new business development.
• Skill in building and nurturing long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and other stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
• Additional Assets
• Knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements relevant to construction materials trading.
• Experience in automating or optimizing business processes for greater efficiency is a valuable plus
