ASX Company Presentation
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Overview (4 minutes minimum, 5 minutes limit and i have chosen Harvey Norman)
Students are required to select an ASX company from the Excel spreadsheet in vUWS. Each case study will present a current business issue that centres mainly on either a decision-making process, a change process, or an operational process..
Details
You are required to:
- Develop an understating of your selected ASX company by researching your selected ASX company case study and addressing the scenario specifications provided below.
- Design your video slides, using PowerPoint as your main source of visual aid.
- Record your narration of slides ensuring that your face is visible, your voice is clear, and your layout/structure is presentable and follows that of the provided exemplar.
Scenario
You have been hired as a new member on the executive team by the company you selected. Your role is to deliver the findings from your research about the process (decision making, change, or operational), presented in your selected company, and make recommendations to the board of directors on the following:
- What went wrong and why (discuss elements of the affected process in your response)
- Changes you propose to improve the processes and organisational performance.
Content for the online video presentation (Part A) will be drawn from the relevant theories and aspects of enterprise leadership that are assigned from the topics covered within Module 4.
Research for the online video presentation (Part A) will need to encompass the use of business databases, textbook sources, peer reviewed articles, business databases and relevant media sources.
When researching the company and compiling your online video presentation (Part A), you will need to make sure you have included:
- background about the company
- a literature review about the topic and theory relating to your area of research
- an explanation of the issues and challenges relating to what you think the company is not doing well in, with a justification of your claims, and
- recommendations on processes that the company may consider improving.
Students are required to act as enterprise leaders, therefore the issues you identify should be based on elements you have identified from the research. The recommendations should not be based on what the company is already doing, but rather what you, as enterprise leaders, think the company can do better.
Exemplar of individual presentation PowerPoint structure
You should use the following structure when preparing the presentation slides for this assessment:
Title slide — include full name and Student ID
Background company information — about the company, financial position and current share price
Topic — review of the literature about the topic, what theories are relevant (use the Module 4 source materials and any other scholarly sources)
Discussion of the issues — analyse and examine the issues, then synthesise these with the topic and relevant theories
Recommendations — what went wrong and what do you recommend for the company to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its processes in your area of research?
Conclusion — summary of your presentation
Reference list — include all sources used for the presentation
