We specialize in manufacturing transmission line hardware, substation equipment, earthing & lightning protection systems, and other electrical infrastructure products. Our solutions are trusted by utilities, EPC contractors, and power transmission projects across multiple international markets.
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Consultant with a strong network in the African power and energy sector to help us generate qualified business opportunities aligned with Mission 300 and other transmission, distribution, and electrification projects across Africa.
The ideal consultant should have established relationships with utilities, EPC contractors, government agencies, consultants, renewable energy developers, and international funding organizations involved in power infrastructure development.
Responsibilities
Identify and generate qualified business leads across African countries.
Build relationships with utilities, transmission companies, EPC contractors, consultants, and government organizations.
Identify projects related to transmission lines, substations, rural electrification, renewable energy, and grid expansion.
Introduce Relco Electricals to key decision-makers and procurement teams.
Arrange virtual or physical meetings with potential clients.
Identify upcoming tenders and procurement opportunities.
Assist in developing partnerships with local distributors and engineering firms.
Provide monthly reports on business opportunities, market trends, and project pipelines.
Support Relco in expanding its presence across African markets.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in business development or sales within the African power and energy sector.
Strong network with utilities, EPC contractors, ministries, consultants, or energy organizations.
Good understanding of transmission & distribution infrastructure projects.
Experience working with internationally funded projects (World Bank, African Development Bank, IFC, etc.) is an advantage.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver measurable results.
Preferred Experience
Experience in transmission line hardware, substations, electrical equipment, or power infrastructure.
Knowledge of Mission 300 and rural electrification initiatives.
Existing contacts within African utilities, transmission companies, or EPC contractors.
Experience representing manufacturers or engineering companies.
