Draft Bicycle Courier Agreements

I’m launching a bicycle-messenger start-up that assigns jobs to subcontracted couriers through our own app, and I need two airtight contracts built from the ground up.

First, the Service Level Agreement. It must clearly spell out the delivery timeframes we promise and the performance metrics we’ll track and share with corporate clients. If you see room for penalty language, flag it as an optional add-on so I can decide whether to include it.

Second, the Bicycle Messenger Agreement. This contract should define each rider’s payment terms, lay out mandatory safety protocols (helmets, visibility gear, accident reporting, etc.), and set expectations around their work schedule while preserving their independent-contractor status.

Both documents have to reference the app’s workflow—jobs are dispatched there in real time—so riders and clients know exactly where responsibilities start and end. Please draft in plain, enforceable U.K. English and provide editable Word or Google Docs versions.
