About Us
We’re a Sheffield England ‑based plumbing & heating business. We currently have three plumbers (two employed, one self‑employed). We already provide a van and uniform. We need a strong consultant to help us become far more profitable, efficient, and scalable.

What We Need You to Do
We need deep , actionable advice and hands‑on strategy. Key tasks include (but are not limited to):
* Audit all costs and expenses (materials, van running, insurance, utility bills, tools, banking fees, software, premises, subcontractors etc.) and show where savings can be made without compromising quality
* Analyse staff structure: employed vs self‑employed, wage levels, productivity, utilisation, scheduling
* Review pricing, job costings, profit margins for each job type; propose adjusted pricing or service bundles
* Improve operational workflows: job scheduling, routing, travel minimisation, parts logistics, inventory management
* Recommend and/or implement software, hardware, systems (job management, invoicing, CRM, quoting, mobile tools) to reduce admin overhead & delays
* Cash flow forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling so we know where money goes, where to invest, when to hire/expand etc.
* Identify strategic investments (vans, tools, training, marketing) — timing, ROI, trade‑offs
* Suggest cost‑efficient banking, insurance, and supplier strategies
* Ensure compliance with UK employment law, tax, pension, insurance, self‑employment rules — advise what is legal and optimal
* Propose marketing / customer retention / recurring revenue strategies (maintenance contracts, upsells, referrals, partnerships)
* Provide deliverables: written report, implementation plan, KPIs / dashboards, recommended timeline

What We Expect from You
Required skills & experience:
* At least 5 years consulting experience (preferably with trades / plumbing / mechanical / construction businesses)
* Strong financial modelling and data analytics ability
* Deep understanding of UK employment law, tax rules (especially for subcontractors vs employees), pensions, and compliance
* Experience recommending and implementing software & systems in field / trade businesses
* Familiarity (or willingness to learn) plumbing / heating / service industry dynamics
* Excellent communication skills, ability to explain complex financials simply
* Experience delivering actionable, implementable strategy (not just theory)
Deliverables & format:
* Cost / expense audit with identified savings
* Actionable plan (short, medium, long term) with priorities
* Suggested software / system stack + cost vs benefit
* Cashflow / profit forecasting model
* Implementation support (mentoring / oversight) is a plus
