Professional Business Card Design Needed - 24/03/2026 23:56 EDT

Job ID: 40323910

Budget: $40 – $60 USD

PROJECT NAME: 2-sided-biz-card

I have all the content ready for a two‑sided business card and need a designer to create a clean, print‑ready layout (front and back) that I can upload to Staples or VistaPrint. General specs
Size: Standard US business card, horizontal, 3.5 x 2 inches.

Color: CMYK, 300 dpi.

Include standard bleed and safe margins suitable for Staples and VistaPrint.

Style: Quiet, professional, easy to read, no flashy or gimmicky graphics.

FRONT SIDE (HORIZONTAL – PRIMARY TEXT SIDE)
Use a simple, modern serif or sans‑serif font that is highly readable at small sizes.

Exact wording (do not change)
Top (name, centered, largest):

ROD GIBBONS

Two lines under name (left‑aligned under the name block, one size smaller):

Author (boating & general fiction)

Unique liveaboard designs — 30–60 ft (10–20 m) boats

Contact block in lower half, left‑aligned:

(US) Tel ______________ -- WhatsApp: ________________
email: r******.com
Serving: U.S. and Mediterranean

Bottom line (centered, slightly smaller, in italics):

Ask for my free list of all 12 interior features found only in my 30–60 ft (10–20 m) designs.

Suggested hierarchy (you may tweak slightly for balance)
Name: ~12 pt, bold, centered.

Two bullet lines: ~10 pt, regular, left‑aligned under the name block.

Phone/WhatsApp line: ~10 pt, bold (main contact line).

Email lines + “Serving: …”: ~9 pt, regular, left‑aligned.

Bottom italic line: ~8.5–9 pt, centered, italics, with enough margin above the trim.

The layout should feel calm and readable, not cramped.

BACK SIDE (DESIGNED TO BE VIEWED VERTICALLY)
Front remains horizontal; the back should be designed so you naturally rotate the card and read it in portrait (vertical) orientation.

Divide the back into three stacked panels of roughly equal height (top/middle/bottom) with consistent spacing and margins. Each panel should read as a clear “box” or grouping (thin outline or strong grouping is fine).

TOP PANEL – HEADSHOT
Image: Color portrait/headshot of me (Rod Gibbons) – I will supply the image.

Placement: Centered within the top panel, with comfortable margins.

Caption (centered directly beneath the photo):

Rod Gibbons

MIDDLE PANEL – BOOKS AND VIDEO
Image: A graphic showing three covers fanned like playing cards:

Front cover fully visible: my book “The Cruising Catamaran Advantage”.

Two additional covers partially visible behind: one other book and one 90‑minute video (I will supply the covers or provisional artwork).

The viewer should clearly see that there are three distinct works, but it’s okay if only the main book title is fully legible.

Caption (centered under the panel):

Books and videos

BOTTOM PANEL – SAVANTI CATAMARAN
Image: Recent two‑color, 2D rendering of my SAVANTI liveaboard catamaran design (I will supply the rendering).

Placement: Centered in the bottom panel, sized so details are visible but with good margins.

Caption (centered under the image):

Luxury SAVANTI liveaboard (15–30+ knots)

DELIVERABLES
Please provide:

Print‑ready PDFs

One PDF with front and back, suitable for upload to Staples and VistaPrint business‑card products (3.5 x 2 in, CMYK, 300 dpi, correct bleed/safe area).

Editable source file

Original editable file (AI, PSD, or similar).

Fonts not outlined, or if they must be, please also include font names / links so I can reuse or adjust later.

Quick preview images

Low‑resolution JPG or PNG previews of front and back for easy on‑screen review.

WHAT I CARE ABOUT MOST
Readability for older eyes: no tiny “fine print” – keep contact info comfortably legible.

Clean, professional look that would feel at home in marinas, boatyards, and with yacht brokers.

Faithful use of the exact wording above on the front and the three captions on the back.

If you understand the brief and have experience preparing print‑ready business card files for Staples/VistaPrint, please include 2–3 samples of previous cards you’ve designed with both front and back.

I'll describe the 3 illustrations on the backside when/if job is agreed upon
