Rural Childcare Feasibility Manager
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 AUD
I’m launching a feasibility study that will determine whether expanded childcare services can support our health sector families on Kangaroo Island, and I need an experienced project manager to drive the process from first interview to final report.
What I need you to own
• Data collection – build and run a methodology that maps every current childcare option on the island and explores realistic future service models. Surveys, interviews and desktop research will all be in scope.
• Analysis – turn the raw findings into clear demand-versus-supply insights, cost projections and risk considerations. Excel, GIS heat-mapping or similar tools are welcome if they strengthen the story.
• Stakeholder engagement – liaise with parents, current providers, council officers and potential investors. I value someone who can schedule meetings, capture concerns and translate them into actionable requirements.
• Feasibility planning – translate the evidence into a concise, decision-ready document outlining service models, capital and operational estimates, and a recommended path forward.
Acceptance criteria
1. Comprehensive dataset of current childcare services and quantified demand for additional places.
2. Stakeholder consultation log (dates, participants, key insights).
3. Gap analysis with at least two viable service scenarios.
4. Final feasibility report (Word and PDF) that could be tabled at council level.
Experience working in rural or regional settings will be highly regarded. This project can be administered remotely or in person.
This is a short-term contract or consultancy opportunity with flexible arrangements available.
There is no rigid deadline; quality and thoroughness matter more than speed, so we can agree on realistic milestones together. If you’ve run rural or regional social-infrastructure studies before, let’s talk—I’m ready to begin as soon as we align on scope.
