Market Researcher – Build a List of 100 Electrical-Contracting Acquisition Targets (Sydney, NSW)

Job ID: 39650691

Budget: $350 – $500 AUD

Background
I am an NSW-based business owner looking to acquire an electrical-contracting company. Broker listings are scarce, so I need a researcher to identify 100 private businesses in the Sydney metropolitan area that meet very specific buy-side criteria (outlined below) and capture them in the attached Excel template.

Scope of work
1. Use only publicly available sources (ASIC/ABN lookup, company & LinkedIn pages, Google reviews, trade directories, project news, tender sites, etc.).
2. Record one row per business in the Excel template I provide (download link below).
3. ALL mandatory criteria must be satisfied for a record to count toward the 100-company quota.

Target-business criteria (MANDATORY)
# Criterion Detail & how to verify
1 Core activity. Electrical-contracting (NOT data-comms-only, HVAC-only, security-only). Website or LinkedIn “About” section must mention electrical installation/service.
2 Location. Head office or principal place of business within Sydney metro postcodes 2000–2234, 2745–2768, 2110–2234, or within 60 km of the CBD.
3 Years trading ≥7 years. Confirm via ASIC “Registration date” (use ABN lookup) or earliest business-name record.
4 Service mix (≥3 required). Tick Y/N columns in template for: Commercial projects; Industrial projects; High-End Residential projects; Service & Maintenance; Solar PV; Dry-Fire / Essential-Services.
5 Size proxy. Likely revenue A$2.5 m – A$5 m and staff 15–30. Use clues: employee count on LinkedIn/company page, size/value of projects quoted, media articles, Capability Statements, etc. Note source in template.
6 Owner identified. Provide the full name of at least one majority owner / director plus direct email or direct phone (no generic “info@” unless that is the owner’s inbox).
7 Availability. Business is not currently advertised for sale on major broker portals (Finn, ABBA, Seek Business, BizBuySell, etc.).
