Analytics Lead
The Analytics Lead will provide high-quality, real-time financial analytics assistance to financial clients, primarily investment bankers, in support of client projects. The role includes creating valuation models and materials, including preparing, maintaining, and analyzing valuation models, preparing company profiles, company pitch books, thematic research, and supporting other sell-side investment banking activities. The Analytics Lead will support the team in completing projects on time and attend calls and interact with clients frequently.
Responsibilities
• Create company profiles, comparable company / precedent transaction analyses, benchmarking financials, company and industry research analysis reports, newsletters, and provide secondary research support when needed
• Understand sophisticated modeling tenets and build / maintain financial models for the client
• Methodical analysis of data and conversion of complex data into a simple, readable format to enable decision making
• Servicing of customized client requests
• Ensure clear and consistent communication channels with clients and the team are followed
• Document workflow processes extensively, which will also serve as a training guide for the team
• Ensure the consistency and quality of final deliverables to the client
• Proactive resolution of team issues via interdepartmental client communication
Skills and Experience required
• 2-3 years of relatable experience in the financial services industry
• Experience supporting Research/Analytics teams for investment banking or equity research business is a plus. Relevant roles may include Operations, Client Onboarding, Bank Resource Management, etc.
• Bachelor's degree in related field. MBA or other post-graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Commerce preferred
• Experience with financial modeling and reporting with the ability to build, maintain / populate Excel-based financial models
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in previous roles, whether in business, collegiate, or volunteer work
• Technical know-how in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of databases like Capital IQ, Thomson One, Refinitiv Eikon, SDC, Factiva, Merger Market, Perfect Information, Datastream, Euromonitor, and Moody’s, as well as any related Excel plugins
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; both written and verbal in English and Japanese
• Able to demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems through critical thinking and by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the project
• Able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal / external clients and/or co-workers at the level of detail required to resolve issues of moderate to high complexity
• Requires excellent communication skills with the ability to state messages in a clear manner by using concise language
