Product Designer / Business Systems Analyst – Construction Handover SaaS
Job Description:
I am developing a web-based platform to streamline residential construction approvals, certifications, and final handover documentation.
This is not a marketing website and not a WordPress build.
It is a workflow-driven SaaS product for the construction industry.
The platform will:
• Break construction projects into defined stages
• Enforce mandatory compliance checklists per stage
• Store approvals, inspections, photos, and certificates in a structured folder system
• Auto-generate pre-filled templates using project data (client, council, builder, consultants, etc.)
• Produce a complete, validated handover pack at project completion
Scope of This Engagement (Phase 1 – No Development):
I am seeking a Product Designer / Business Systems Analyst to define the system before any development begins.
You will be responsible for:
• Defining construction stages and checklist taxonomy
• Mapping workflow logic and approval rules
• Defining the data model (project, client, council, builder, consultants)
• Creating a document and template register
• Defining folder structure and final handover packaging logic
• Defining user roles and permissions
*This phase is definition and documentation only. No coding is required.*
Deliverables:
• Functional specification (build-ready)
• Workflow diagrams
• Data field register
• Template register
• MVP feature list
Deliverables must be provided in editable formats (PDF + Miro/Figma/Notion/Excel).
Preferred Experience:
• SaaS or workflow-based systems
• Business systems analysis
• Document automation or compliance systems
• Construction or property industry experience (preferred but not essential)
Budget & Duration:
• Fixed price: market to decide and subject to negotiation
• Duration: 2–4 weeks
