Climate Smart Agri/Renewables/Carbon DD/Financial Analyst
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
We are a rapidly growing commodity trading and asset management business, with offices globally and a portfolio that includes transportation, processing and storage assets. Much of funding has been raised by launching commodity related funds given our asset management experience. In addition to other funds, which address other aspects of the supply chain, we are launching a Climate Smart Agriculture Fund, which will provide financing to sustainable investments/projects, including those that will generate carbon credits. We are looking for relevant experience in the sustainable/ESG/renewables and carbon space, and a different range of skill sets as detailed below.
The requirements are to contribute to different analyses undertaken on each potential financing provided to a given project.
The following details a list of the work/due diligence to address and building a full life cycle assessment of the financing including financial, ESG, supply chain and carbon accounting considerations:
Environmental assessment including Total emissions (in tCO2-e) of the entire value chain and of its different stages and food loss.
Socio-economic analysis such as prices and quantities of inputs and outputs reported at every stage of an agri-food value chain.
Gender and youth, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) tracker
Supply Chain Analysis, such as identifying high risk supply chains and conducting counterparty assessments
Impact Assessment Steps meaning mapping supply chain through diagrams/written descriptions, and supplier questionnaires with ESG information
ESMA steps being review/encourage/develop sustainable sourcing strategies for commodities and identifying real cost using Natural Capital Valuation
Traditional Investment Memo including project Description, transaction Structuring/Commercial Contracts, Security/Collateral, Risk/Pricing, Credit Risk and Mitigating factors, Repayment Risk/FX Risk/Country Risk/Liquidity Risk and cap tables
Cash Flow Forecasting: effective evaluation of risks in agri-lending, cashflow forecasting based on monthly calculations of all expenses and revenues from land preparation to harvesting and sale.
Finally, the ability to complete carbon capture analysis, leaning on existing technology or accepted accounting practices.
If you feel you could contribute to any of the above, we would be very grateful to hear from you.
