Business Systems Analyst - Back Support
Budget: $500 – $900 CAD
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with project stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into details that the delivery team is able to understand. Conversely, proactively translate the emerging questions from the developers into details that stakeholders are able to understand to ensure the team has a consistent, single vision, formulate a realistic vision of the business, and subsequently plot the scope and requirements of the project.
Defines improvements to business processes, assists decision-makers in gathering information to make decisions, help quality assurance test solutions, and step in as a scrum master if required.
Challenges the business manager, sponsor, problem owner and customers to define the real business problem behind the expressed “needs” to ensure that the delivery team is solving the right problem, and not providing the right solution to the wrong problem.
Develops and documents use cases and functional specifications.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst. Experience with large projects (rewards, and incentive programs) is preferred.
Experience with large projects consisting of multi-million dollar budgets.
Direct experience with both classical waterfall software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies (i.e. scrum).
Excellent data gathering techniques supported by strong interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple competing tasks and priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in PC software applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
