Added. I’ve folded the take-off and material order requirement into the role and put the AI-generated materials warning in plain, firm terms.

Remote Estimator - Insurance Reinstatement Works (UK Schedule of Rates)

We’re a UK building services and insurance reinstatement contractor working directly with insurers, loss adjusters and TPAs. We need an experienced estimator to price reinstatement works remotely on an ongoing freelance basis.

The role:
You’ll produce accurate estimates and scopes of works from floor plans, photos, videos and surveyor notes. No site visits. All pricing is against a schedule of rates with measured quantities, so you must be confident taking measurements from plans and applying SOR line items correctly. You’ll also price variations as jobs progress.

On top of the estimate, you’ll carry out the take-off and prepare a material order sheet for each job, listing the actual materials and quantities required for the works.

Output expectation:
This is a volume role. You’ll be expected to turn out five reported estimates per working day to a consistent standard. Accuracy and speed are both non-negotiable, an estimate that’s fast but wrong costs us more than no estimate at all.

Non-negotiable on materials:
Material order sheets must reflect the real materials and quantities for the job. AI-generated or generic placeholder material lists will not be tolerated and are grounds for instant dismissal unless pre-approved with us first. We need lists a merchant could order from, not filler.

You must have:

• Proven experience estimating insurance reinstatement or domestic/commercial building repair works
• Strong working knowledge of UK schedules of rates
• Ability to take off quantities from floor plans and visual evidence
• Ability to produce accurate, orderable material schedules
• Capacity to commit to full working days, this is not a side gig
• Good written English for scope narratives

Nice to have:

• Experience with insurer networks or TPA portals
• Familiarity with water damage, fire damage and drying/restoration scopes

Ongoing work for the right person, starting with a paid trial batch of estimates.
