MEP Engineer - Power and Water Distribution
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
I’m refurbishing a row of second-floor apartments and adding new homes on the third floor in Luton. To keep the programme moving I need a UK-based MEP engineer who can take full responsibility for the water and power risers that will link the ground-floor utilities to a plant room on level two and then up to every apartment.
Water scope
• Size and route a rising main from the existing first-floor plant room to level two, then distribute to all second- and third-floor units.
• Interface with individual meters already planned for each flat.
• Demonstrate compliance with WRAS throughout.
Power scope
• Bring a new UKPN service up from street level to the second-floor plant room.
• Specify switchgear, metering, and sub-mains to each apartment in line with BS 7671 and UKPN requirements.
What I will hand over
Full architectural layouts showing the number of bedrooms in every unit plus the exact location of kitchens and bathrooms, so you can position vertical stacks and containment with confidence.
Required output
1. Coordinated MEP drawings in PDF and DWG
2. Separate water and power riser diagrams
3. Sizing schedules and concise compliance notes suitable for Building Control submission
Essentials
• Demonstrable UK MEP design experience on multi-unit residential refurbishments
• Up-to-date knowledge of WRAS, BS 7671 and UKPN standards
• Professional Indemnity Insurance – proof will be requested before award
Please respond with a brief portfolio of comparable work, an outline programme, and your fixed-price fee. I’m ready to supply the CAD backgrounds immediately and would like to appoint this week.
