First-Floor Steel Structural Design
Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP
The ground floor structure is already in place; now I need a qualified structural engineer to carry the load path upward and complete the first-floor design in steels. The scope centres on sizing and detailing new beams, columns, and the associated walls/partitions, together with the roof framing that will sit above them. Everything will be steel, so I expect full calculations for member sizing, connections, and deflection checks to UK Building Regulations.
There is also a minor modification to an existing element that was left stubbed off on site. I need you to analyse that portion, show how it ties into the new structure, and update the drawings so the contractor can proceed without guesswork.
Key deliverables
• Calculation report (clearly showing load cases, combinations, and utilisation ratios)
• GA and detail drawings in PDF + DWG
• Connection details ready for fabrication, if any
• Brief method statement explaining the on-site modification procedure
Ideally need work back within 7 days for most elements, but a few days if possible on some of the smaller areas.
