120-Yard Family Home Architectural Design
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I am looking for a thoughtful architect who can turn our 30.8 ft × 36 ft (about 120 sq yd) plot in the NCR into a comfortable two-storey home that breathes well in hot summers and stays cosy in winter. The house must serve three generations at once: my parents, my own family with two children, and my younger brother’s family with their two children. Good cross-ventilation, shaded openings, and materials that stay cool are therefore essential.
The visual language I have in mind is modern but softened by cost-saving traditional details—think simple jaali screens, exposed brick, and locally sourced stone rather than elaborate ornamentation. On the ground floor I want an open-yet-zoned living, dining, and kitchen core, a guest bedroom with an attached washroom, and a small utility area. An on-plot parking bay is mandatory; a compact kitchen-garden strip would be a welcome bonus if the setback allows.
The upper floor should host the family bedrooms, bathrooms and a small family lounge or study corner that can double as a kids’ homework zone. Access to a usable terrace or partially covered roof would be great for evening breezes.
To guide construction and approvals I will need, at minimum:
• dimensioned floor plans for both storeys with furniture layout
• two or three façade options showing the modern-traditional blend
• a roof and services layout that includes water-tank, solar and HVAC provisions
• basic 3-D views or renders illustrating light flow and ventilation paths
