I’m renovating and expanding a single-family home and need a structural engineer who is currently licensed in Texas. The scope centers on assessing the existing framing and foundation, then detailing the modifications needed to safely carry the new loads introduced by the addition.
What I’ll look for:
• Signed and Texas-stamped structural drawings covering beams, joists, posts, footings, and connections.
• Load calculations that comply with the latest IRC/IBC and local Texas building codes.
• A concise report highlighting any required reinforcements to meet wind, soil, and seismic considerations typical for our region.
• One revision cycle after municipal plan-check feedback.
