We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (Colorado) to revise an existing set of civil plans for a warehouse development project in Gunnison, CO.
You need to be in the USA and be able to stamp colorado Civil.
We have already completed a full set of plans and received City review comments. Most comments relate to stormwater, drainage, and utility coordination. Only address City Comments from 30 to 43
Your role is to review, correct, and prepare a permit-ready resubmittal package.
Project Scope: Only address City Comments from 30 to 43
Two metal warehouse buildings (site + utilities already designed)
Existing civil plans, drainage report, and utility plans provided
City review comments issued (see summary below)
You need to be in the USA and be able to stamp colorado Civil.
Key Tasks
You will be responsible for:
1. Stormwater / Drainage Fixes
Revise stormwater detention layout (conflicts with transformer + access)
Update grading to eliminate ponding in driveway
Add spot elevations, inverts, slopes, and pipe sizing
Coordinate catch basins and underground drainage system
Update drainage report to reflect:
Driveway runoff (not just roofs)
Storm infrastructure changes
Clarify 8” HDPE pipe system (source + discharge)
Ensure compliance with 100-year storm requirements
2. Utility Plan Corrections
Properly color-code utilities (water, sewer, etc.)
Resolve fire vs domestic water service configuration
Clearly show:
You need to be in the USA and be able to stamp colorado Civil.
Meter sizes and locations
Fire line vs domestic separation
Backflow preventers (type + location)
Resolve inconsistency:
(1) 1.5” meter vs (2) 1” meters
Label ownership limits per City requirements
3. Sewer + Water Coordination
Specify materials (SDR-35 PVC, etc.)
Detail connection to existing lined VCP sewer main
Provide correct connection method (Fernco saddle or approved equal)
Confirm bury depths and profiles
4. Site Coordination Issues
Resolve conflict:
Transformer located in drainage area
Trash enclosure located in drainage area
Ensure safe and code-compliant placement
