Timber Structural Design
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 AUD
The project is a full timber-frame design for an Australian residential build and must be produced in Hyne Design. I have already settled on this software, so the final model, schedules, and calculations all need to come straight from Hyne. If you also work in Spacegass or AutoCAD that’s great for drawing coordination, but Hyne remains the source of truth for member sizing and code checks.
Scope
The job covers every major structural timber element—beams and rafters, wall framing, and floor systems—designed to the Australian Standard Timber Design Code (AS 1720) and integrated with typical Australian residential slab details. I will provide architectural plans and slab set-outs; you return a compliant timber scheme that meets strength, serviceability, and vibration limits.
What to send me
Please attach a detailed project proposal outlining your design approach, key milestones, and how you will verify compliance with AS 1720. Highlight any similar work delivered in Hyne Design and note any value you can add through supplementary AutoCAD drawings or Spacegass cross-checks.
Deliverables
• Hyne Design model file (.hsd)
• Calculation report generated from Hyne, sealed if you hold the appropriate registration
• Mark-up or DWG/PDF drawings showing member sizes, connections, and tie-downs
• Brief design summary explaining assumptions, load paths, and any deviations from typical residential details
Acceptance criteria
The package will be considered complete once all timber members pass Hyne checks for strength and deflection, the drawings are coordinated with the slab layout, and I can lodge the documents for building approval without further amendment.
