The Job:
I need a structural engineer to assess an existing solid brick party wall and specify a steel beam/lintel for a new opening. The opening is approximately 3,300-3,600mm wide x 2,400mm high in a single-storey commercial building.
I will provide:
Full photo set (both faces of wall, roof void, trusses, external)
All measurements (wall thickness, ceiling height, truss spacing, member sizes)
Site description and existing conditions
What I need from you:
Structural assessment of the proposed opening
Steel beam specification (size, bearing length, connections)
Temporary shoring requirements during construction
Stamped/certified drawings or report suitable for a WA building permit application
Requirements:
Must be a registered structural engineer in Australia
Must be familiar with Australian Standards (AS 3700 masonry, AS 4100 steel)
Must be able to certify/stamp drawings for a Western Australian building permit
Remote assessment is fine — site visit not required
