Modern Cardio Home Gym Design
Budget: $30 – $100 USD
I’m converting a spare room into a dedicated cardio-focused gym and need an architectural designer who can translate my ideas into a clean, modern space that motivates me to move every day. The room is roughly 4 m × 5 m with a 2.7 m ceiling; natural light comes from one large window on the east wall.
Function & layout
The plan must prioritize cardio equipment—primarily a treadmill and an upright bike—while leaving enough open floor area for dynamic warm-ups and stretching. Traffic flow, equipment clearances, and sight-lines to the window (and a future wall-mounted screen) are all important.
Aesthetic direction
I’m after a modern look: crisp lines, a restrained palette, and integrated lighting that feels energizing but not harsh. Think matte black or charcoal accents balanced with light timber or concrete-look flooring that can handle heavy use.
Storage solution
Built-in storage is essential. I’d like a wall-length cabinet or recessed niche to hide resistance bands, towels, and small accessories. This should blend seamlessly with the overall design and keep the space clutter-free.
Acoustic & comfort considerations
Please include recommendations for acoustic dampening (both airborne and impact) as well as ventilation solutions so the room stays cool during intense sessions. If specific materials or products make a difference, note them.
Deliverables
• Scaled floor plan showing equipment placement and circulation
• 2–3 high-resolution 3D renders illustrating finishes, lighting, and built-in storage
• Annotated materials/fixtures list with links or product codes where possible
• Construction-ready drawings for the storage unit (dimensions, joinery details)

Designs must fit the stated room dimensions, respect clearances for commercial-grade machines, and show at least one ventilation strategy. The built-in storage should provide a minimum of 1.5 m³ of enclosed capacity.
