Composite Deck Structure Design
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I need a complete structural design for a low-profile timber deck that will be finished with composite panels. The deck footprint is 6 m × 3 m and it sits only 100 mm above the ground, serving as an outdoor seating area in a garden. The supporting framework must be pressure-treated lumber, while the walking surface will be a composite product I’ll confirm once the structure is sized.
Your task is to take those basic parameters and turn them into a build-ready package: size the joists, bearers and any perimeter beams, check footings for local soil capacity, specify hardware and fastening patterns that suit a moist outdoor environment, and verify everything against the applicable residential live-load requirements. I’ll rely on your drawings for council approval, so clarity and code compliance are essential.
Deliverables
• Dimensioned PDF drawings (plan, section and connection details)
• Calculation notes showing load paths, member sizing and deflection checks
• Material take-off so I can order everything in one go
Acceptance is based on the drawings being clear enough for a carpenter to follow without further clarification and the calculations demonstrating compliance with the referenced standard you normally use (please state which). If you work in AutoCAD, Revit, or a similar platform, just let me know—DWG or IFC exports are a plus but not mandatory.
I’m ready to move quickly and would like the final package within a week of kickoff. Reach out with any questions about site conditions or load assumptions and we’ll get started right away.
