The Pineapple Growing Project

Job ID: 33102014

Budget: £250 – £750 GBP

Larbert villages Allotment Association almost signed a lease with the National Trust for Scotland to garden the secondary walled garden at The Pineapple House near Airth, Falkirk. Unfortunately, we discovered that it requires planning consent to change the use and there may be other issues to address. We have funding in place and wish to retain a consultant to negotiate the planning system on our behalf. The current plan is to provide around 26 small plots on an area of ground around 70m by 40m some of which will be used for food growing by Falkirk Foodbank and Airth primary School.

Ideally, we want someone who can start immediately and secure access to at least plough the site by the end of June 2022. The information below is an exchange of emails with Falkirk Council Planning Department and contains information about what we need to address in order to get on to the site. However, FCP may also end up wanting to look at vehicle access to the site which is along a narrow privately owned country road.

See Planning Paterson file for planning objections.
