Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I am looking for an experienced architect or designer to create a single-family home plan for a project. The ideal candidate should have expertise in designing houses within the range of 1,000 to 2,000 square feet.
Specific requirements for the home design will be provided as I have a detailed list of features that I would like to incorporate into the plan. The candidate should be able to work with this list and translate it into a practical and functional design.
Deliverable: The main thing we need is 2D floor plans. May be interested in 3D, depending on cost. Don’t need furniture, but cabinetry, appliances, fixtures, windows, doors, etc
Key Skills and Experience:
- Architectural design and drafting
- Experience in designing single-family homes
- Proficiency in creating plans within the specified square footage range
- Ability to incorporate specific features from a detailed list into the design
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate and precise plans
We are building a new home and are having an (Amish) company called Sweet Cabins build the structure. They also provide plans for the foundation after we decide on the style and size.
Basically we have the foundation/crawlspace laid, they come in and build the structure with floors/lofts and we have to design and hire out all the interior wall layout. I've attempted to design this on my own and am having difficulty with laying it out.
It will be a 30x60 building with a 24x24 attached garage. As of now, we have the owners suite with full bath and large walk in closet on the one end. Open living/dining/kithen in the center. Then a study, 1/2 bath, utility closet, mudroom and pantry on the other end. On the 2nd floor of the study/mudroom we will have closed in and would like another bedroom with a full bath. Above the master suite will be a loft area and where we would like the stairs with an open walkway to the bedroom.
We do want a gas fireplace in the living room and a large island in the kitchen.
I did a rough draft of what we are wanting (not to scale), but am open to changes of room sizes and a design that will flow better.

Timeline: Getting the survey done this week and we will then have the foundation and shell built before we can start on the inside.
