Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have an existing building with a poured concrete floor, at least 5" with reinforcement. I want to add a mezzanine. It should be free span. The dimensions are approx. 22" front to back by approx. 25" side to side. Both 25" sides and one 22" side will be next to the buildings' exterior walls, a U shape with on man door near one end on a 25' side, a stair opening provision should be included(location to be determined). The mezzanine should not require any attachment to the outside wall and will support a live load of people, office and storage. The poured floor is up against a combination poured/cinderblock knee wall 6" high that is also the foundation wall. The poured floor is attached to the wall via pins extending from the floor reinforcement. I would like the height of the mezzanine to be 8' under it. It is OK if above the mezzanine is less then 8'. The underside is more important for the height and openness. I would like it to be wood construction if fiscally feasible, otherwise a steel option is OK.
