Update Home Exterior - Mid Century Modern Design

Job ID: 33816082

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I purchased a 1961 ranch home in San Diego County, CA about 18 months ago. We are almost done updating the interior to be mid-century modern inspired and would like the exterior to reflect that as well. The house is very long and is need of some design elements to break it up a bit and create some interest. On the far left side is the garage (door is on side of house) and the far right is the master bedroom. We would like to replace the roof and update the exterior with more style appropriate elements. The design needs to embrace the front door set we just installed. We are not afraid of color, but would like to stay true to mid-century modern design. All of the rock attached to the house and the blue doors to the right of the front doors will be removed. Window sizes can be modified (to an extent) as they all need to be replaced (original from 1961). All hardware finishes & window frames will be matte black. We need more lighting as the only lights on the house currently flank the front door and there are no street lights nearby. Photos included: new front door set (need to replace hardware), exterior of home (with original door set) from October 2020, exterior in October 2011 (original look from 1961), 2 exterior close ups, the side of the house with garage access and 6 inspiration photos. We are not looking for structural changes that would require engineering. We would entertain some type of cover/overhang over the front door area and a courtyard or other sitting area that ties into the design of the home. A circular driveway will be added in front of the house in case that is helpful information.

We are looking to work with someone with experience in Mid Century design. Please provide a sample of your work with your response. Thank you!
