Tiny house floor plans with moveable walls wheelchair
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
14x40 year round structure on axle trailer. 1 1/2 story with 5.5 ft head space in loft. 2x6 exterior wall structure and proper plumbing for Minnesota and Wisconsin winters. Gambrel barn roof or peaked but want to add covered deck wrap on 3 sides of structure. We like the Appalachian Mountain home look that has the extended roof to cover log cabin porches on each side of the long structure, with porch swings attached or rocking chairs. Even though we like this style roof we want a more modern style exterior. Imitation light weight rock accents on bottom with dark blue siding. Not quite sure what other color accents would suit this exterior. Prefer eves in loft area too. The 14x40 trailered structure needs to be able to pull into the wrapped porch area but hitch can be hidden under front of porch. This structure will be parked at a year round tiny home community until we buy land to move it to. We would like a side main entrance and floor to ceiling window on the front. We would also like the wrap porch to have a covered 3-season screened porch on the front with thin slide up windows, a gas fire place and TV area for extra living space.
The interior of the house has to accommodate our wheelchair confined daughter and so we want extra doors on both sides of structure to accommodate extra fire exits, hence a wrapped porch so that she can have outside access to a ramp. This tiny house will be designed to accommodate a retiring couple but have extra space for our three adult children to visit and accommodate possible future grandchildren. We would like the main living space to be spacious and open with plenty of seating space and room for a tall Christmas tree. In this area we would like to have a fireplace, gas or electric but gives heat. Off the living area we need a kitchen area that offers full size appliances, a pantry and open wall space to accommodate for wall shelving rather then upper cupboards. We want to add space to hang cast iron on a wall. Off the living space we would like to add a moving wall. When the wall is pulled out it will shrink the living space but open up a private room for our wheelchair confined daughter with a bed and storage. When closed the living room will double in size. The living room also needs to double as a bedroom even with the wall open. The bathroom will need to also be handicap accessible with full wheel chair turn and roll in shower. We have looked at Japanese style bathrooms that are completely water proof with less walls. More like a complete shower room. We have a high priced Bidet that we were going to install in our current house but since we are moving, we decided not to install into our existing house. The master bedroom needs to accommodate a queen size bed. We considered a drop floor in the master bedroom and moveable furniture here too so that we can accommodate a walk-in closet. We would like the loft to be open and overlooking the living space in the front where the grandchildren can play or sleep. The split on the stair would give access to a back bedroom that will allow for another private bedroom space for one of our three adult children or a thin partition that can split the back loft into two smaller bedrooms. We would like lots of windows in this home. We have looked at barn sheds, tiny homes and park models for ideas. The issue is that we don’t know how to draw our ideas up with moveable walls. The moving wall ideas came from you tube videos of New York and Tokyo tiny apartments. I do not know if this is possible in a tiny home. Lastly, we need a full size stackable washer and dryer.
Accents: We like the clean look of Sheetrock, paneling and tiles. We want butcher block counters. We like the look of galvanized steel touches through out on walls and ceiling but not overly decorated. We like rebar loft railings and plumbing rod shelves, hooks. I would say that our style is more modern with a touch of rustic.
