Structural Drawings for Building Expansion
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need an structural engineer to assist with creating structural drawings for the expansion of an existing building. The project involves detailed work on the foundation area and wall lines with alterations.
Specifically, the freelancer will need to address the following plan check comments:
10. Structural Drawings
a. Please provide foundation plan and second level framing plan. On the plans, please identify new and existing framing/footing. Sheet A3 is not clear, is this entire foundation replacement or partial replacement. Please clarify header/beam sizes for new/enlarged openings.
b. Please provide dowel connection between new footing and existing footing if occurs.
c. Please provide concrete construction details for the sunken area.
d. Please provide construction details for drainpipe under footing/slab.
e. please provide seismic upgrade to the wall lines with alteration (added/relocated openings & removed/shifted wall), which reduces shear capacity of existing building more than 10% per CBC Part 10 Existing Building Code section 403.4. Please provide lateral design calculation, details etc. to show compliance.
