Set Designer Consultant - Freelance
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are seeking a skilled and artistic set/stage designer to join our team to scope, plan out, and configure a single permanent but customizable space dedicated to ongoing video production.
As our set designer, you will work closely with our production team to understand the nature of our business and the specific needs of each video project. You will be responsible for designing sets that are both visually appealing and functional, ensuring that they meet the technical requirements of the production.
You should have a strong eye for detail and be able to work within tight deadlines and budgets. The ability to think creatively and problem-solve is essential in this project. 3D skills such as AutoCAD or SketchUp are not required but are appreciated if they help you do your job effectively.
*Note: This will be an on-site interview.
Requirements:
- MUST be residing in Central Virginia as we are based in Amherst and would require travel to our office
- A degree in theater design, media production or a related field, or;
- 3+ years of experience in set design for video production
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work within tight deadlines and budgets
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Be able to manage and utilize limited resources to the best of your ability
Qualifications:
- A portfolio of past set design work
- Experience with lighting design and set decoration
- The ability to create detailed technical drawings and plans
- A keen eye for aesthetics and the ability to bring creative ideas to life
- Familiarity with industry-standard production equipment and techniques
