Scaffolding Quote Engineer Needed - Remote Position
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
We are a UK-based company seeking a skilled Scaffolding Quote and Design Engineer to join our team on a project basis. This role primarily involves creating accurate scaffolding quotes based on photographs, with the additional capability to provide detailed drawings and calculations for more complex projects when required.
Key responsibilities:
Analyse photographs of job sites submitted by scaffolders
Use our specialised software to create scaffolding quotes based on these photographs
Generate precise and competitive quotes for standard scaffolding projects
For complex projects that require it:
Provide detailed drawings for scaffolding and temporary structures (e.g., temporary roofs)
Perform and document working load calculations
Ensure designs comply with relevant UK safety standards and regulations
Communicate effectively with our team to determine when detailed drawings and calculations are necessary
Liaise with clients to clarify project requirements when needed
Requirements:
Strong background in scaffolding design or structural engineering
Proficiency in CAD software and willingness to learn our proprietary quoting software
Understanding of structural mechanics and load calculations
Familiarity with UK industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., HSE guidelines, TG20)
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately estimate materials and costs
Excellent communication skills in English
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Reliable internet connection for remote work
Desirable qualifications:
NASC (National Access and Scaffolding Confederation) registration as an approved engineer is a significant plus
Experience with UK-specific scaffolding regulations and practices
The ideal candidate will have experience in the UK scaffolding or construction industry. Whilst in-depth knowledge of local regulations isn't required for all projects, a general understanding of when more complex designs and calculations are typically needed is beneficial, especially in the context of UK standards.
This is a remote position with flexible hours. We're looking for someone who can efficiently create scaffolding quotes from photographs, and who has the additional capability to provide more detailed engineering work when our team determines it's necessary for a project, all within the framework of UK regulations.
In your proposal, please include relevant examples of your work, particularly any that showcase your experience with both standard scaffolding quotes and more complex structural designs in the UK context. Also, describe your approach to determining when a project might require more detailed engineering work, especially considering UK-specific requirements.
