Room conversion engineering drawing
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Hello,
We would like to convert our 2nd story master bedroom retreat into a separate bedroom by closing off the wall and adding a door and closet. I got the engineering drawings from the city (attached along with my drawing of what we would like to change) and the wall we would like to add a door to is load bearing and a sheer wall for earthquake protection. The house is also on a post tension slab. The city has requested engineering drawings be submitted to them for this room conversion. I would like to request help with design and drawings that will be acceptable to the city of Santa Clarita and will allow my builders to begin the project. My builders tell me that the wall just needs to be reinforced with 4 x 4 posts around the new door but would like your opinion and expertise. This seems like a simple project so hopefully not too involved here. Please provide your estimated project cost for this, plus lead time.
