I am seeking skilled freelancers or architectural firms to assist with the Preliminary Design Phase of my project, Teukisiafo'ou Lodge Limited, located in Tonga (South Pacific) (21°08'41.4"S 175°11'36.5"W). This phase focuses on creating a conceptual layout and modular design for a lodge and café, incorporating compliance, resilience, and sustainability features. The lodge and cafe design requirement is to be build with modules manufactured from a factory, so the modules designed must be for a simple and standard modules that can be joint to construct the planned lodge and cafe. Rooms can be added in phases and still open for addition in future as long as space allows. Main building material will be reinforced concrete modules, and can be but not limited to modules such as RC stubs modules (at least 1m above ground), RC floor modules, RC wall modules, RC ceiling modules. On top of the RC ceiling modules are a steel structure roof with solar panels for the Hybrid Solar Energy System placing to gain maximum sun hours and curved to allow venturi airflow effect to cool the top of the ceiling as Tonga has tropical warm humid climate during the day time.
The scope includes:
Site Planning
Develop an initial site plan, including:
Building locations (lodge and café).
Access roads, parking, and outdoor spaces.
Modular Design Development
Design the lodge and café as modular reinforced concrete structures, meeting the following criteria:
Factory-manufactured modules.
Shipped and assembled on-site.
Modules must align with the provided dimensions and structural requirements.
Compliant with the AU/NZ Building Code.
Able to withstand Category 4 cyclones and meet seismic design requirements for earthquake-prone areas like Tonga.
Sustainability Integration
Incorporate sustainable features, such as:
Hybrid Solar & Battery energy systems (Site Location is at 21°08'41.4"S 175°11'36.5"W)
Water management systems (e.g., rainwater harvesting, graywater reuse).
Waste disposal solutions.
3D Renderings and Visualization
Create sketches or 3D renderings to visualize the modular structure, including:
Lodge design with rooms and verandahs.
Café design with dining areas.
Project Requirements:
Building Code Compliance: Designs must adhere to the Australian/New Zealand Building Code (AU/NZ) standards.
Structural Resilience:
Structures must withstand Category 4 cyclone winds.
Earthquake-resistant design, suitable for seismic activity in Tonga.
Experience in modular reinforced concrete design.
Familiarity with sustainable building practices.
Ability to integrate provided measurements and design specifications into the modular framework.
Clear communication and willingness to make revisions based on feedback.
